OUR PEOPLE

Leon de Costa - Chief Executive
Before heading Judicium Leon de Costa was a highly experienced barrister in private practise working principally in London and the South East. He attended London University and City University followed by the Inns of Court School of Law where he qualified as a Barrister. From 1992 Leon until 2000 he worked from Furnival Chambers, the chambers of Andrew Mitchell QC.

Dr Alex Mehta - Legal Director
Alex was educated at Oxford University and awarded his doctorate in law and regulatory compliance. He attended the Inns of Court School of Law on a Sir Thomas More scholarship where he trained as a barrister. Alex qualified at the Chambers of Christopher Lockhart-Mummery QC and was an Associate Researcher at the Centre for Socio-legal Studies, Oxford. A Hardwicke scholar of Lincoln's Inn, Alex has taught and researched for a number of institutions around the world.

Peter Crawford-Taylor - General Marketing Manager
Peter Crawford-Taylor has an MA from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and 30 years of commercial experience, gained in both the business-to-business arena and in direct sales to the consumer. His general management experience, principally in the technology and information industries, has a strong international dimension - while with Xerox he spent a decade living and working in Europe as MD of the Danish and Dutch subsidiaries.

NON EXECUTIVES

Nimble Thompson - Non-executive Director and Chairman
Nimble's background is as a commercial litigator of wide experience, both in England and internationally. Trained in London, he spent his legal life in Leeds becoming Managing Partner, and later Senior Partner of Eversheds in Leeds and Manchester. As the National Vice-Chairman of Eversheds, he was instrumental in the creation of what is one of the biggest European law firms. He became the Chairman of Leeds Metropolitan University in September 2000.

Conor Dufficy - Non-Executive Director
Conor is ex-Divisional Managing Director at Bank of America where he was Head of Foreign Exchange Trading. He was also the Bank's representative on the Executive Board of EBS.com. A well respected figure in the City, Conor has many years of experience in banking and wide spread contacts in the financial sector, having previously worked with JP Morgan and the Bank of Ireland. Conor has a BA in Legal Science from Trinity College, Dublin.

Terry Bannister - Non-Executive Director
Terry has 30 years experience in advertising and public relations. He worked for Saatchi and Saatchi for 17 years, rising through the ranks to Joint Chief Executive of worldwide communications and finally as a Director of the company. He co-founded Warman & Bannister Advertising and Public Relations in 1991.

Subhash Shukla - Non-Executive Director
Subhash is a graduate of Warwick Business School with a proven track record of turnaround success in the IT industry. He gained much of his experience over sixteen years in sales and marketing at Xerox, followed by two years at a Dutch multinational and seven years as President of Ricoh UK Ltd.

ADVISORY PANEL

Dr Chris Whelan
LLB PhD (LSE). Associate Director, International Law Programmes, University of Oxford and formerly senior lecturer, University of Warwick School of law. Visiting appointments at University of California Berkeley, University of Texas School of law, University of South Carolina School of law and Ohio State University College of law. Dr Whelan is a consultant to the Office of Fair Trading, the National Consumer Council, the Dutch government and the Law Reform Commission of British Columbia. He also practises privately as a barrister from 3 Paper Buildings, the chambers of Michael Parroy QC where he specialises in Employment law.

Professor John Flood
John Flood is Professor of Law and Sociology at the University of Westminster. He studied law at London School of Economics, Warwick and Yale. He received his PhD in sociology from Northwestern University. As a specialist in law and social science, he has researched and taught at the American Bar Foundation, Indiana University and the European University Institute. His research has included studies of lawyer-client interaction, arbitration, the globalization of law, transnational insolvency and consumer complaints in the financial services sector.
